EU citizens do not need a visa to enter Italy. However, if your stay will be longer than three months, you will need to register at the Registry Office (Anagrafe) of the Town Council (Comune) where you live.

Non-EU citizens have to apply for a visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their home country.
