IASL is an international scientific association, born in Athens, in 1992.
Its objective is to develop science, research and teaching of Sports Law through establishing libraries and labs, through organizing scientific congresses and workshops about Sports Law.
In order to achieve these aims, the association:

  • publishes scientific texts, journals and brochures;
  • cooperates with international bodies and persons, having the same aims.

In addition, through the years, IASL has always organised international congresses, under the auspicies of international sport organizations even cooperating with them.
Traditionally, each congress develops in 2 days and a half. Proceedings are sorted by specific themes, according to the general theme.
Each speaker can make his/her own presentation for 15 minutes more or less, even adding slides.

A congress programme is provided to each attendee, as well as useful equipment, such as notebooks, pen-drives, pens etc.
Official languages will be defined each year. Normally, the first official language is the one of the country which host the congress and, of course, english and greek. A simultaneous interpreting service is provided. Regarding the accomodations during the congress, the participants will stay in hotels provided by the organization committee that arranges movements from hotel to congress location, too. Furthermore, social meals are planned.

As we said above, publishments are a good way to achieve the association aims.
